Increase your reward of the month of Dhul-Hijjah
Beginning of the month of Dhul-Hijjah - Dublin Mosque Extension Appeal
Assalamu alaykum
The sighting of the moon of the month of Dhul-Hijjah was announced on Sunday the 18th of June 2023. Monday, the 19th of June was the first day of Dhul-Hijjah. The day of Arafat will be on Tuesday the 27th of June and Eid Al-Adha will be on Wednesday the 28th of June.
Rasulullah, salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam, said about these days: "There are no days in which good action is more beloved to Allah than these days - meaning the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah …’’
As for the good actions that are recommended during the first ten days, these include nafl (voluntary prayers), dhikr (remembrance of Allah, Subhanahu wa ta’ala) reading the Qur’an, making a lot of Takbeer, Tahleel, and Tahmeed, fasting in all the first nine days, especially on the day of Arafat.
Rasulullah, Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam, said about fasting on the Day of Arafat:: “Fasting on the day of Arafat, I anticipate that it will wipe out the sins of the year after it and the year before it.” Slaughtering the Qurbani and the Eid prayer are also good deeds on these days.
Among the good actions to do these days is Sadaqah and spending Fi-Sabeelil-lah - so, why not take the opportunity to give during these days?
We are inviting you to give and share in the reward!
