2020 Zakat Payment Update

Allah (Tabaraka wa ta'aala) made Zakat an obligation and one of the five pillars of Islam.

You can read here a more detailed explanation on Zakat, types and how to calculate Zakat ul-Mal.

Zakat ul-Fitr:

Zakat ul-Fitr is payable during Ramadan and before Eid and based on the following hadith:

Ibn Abbas (r.a.) said: "The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) enjoined Zakat-ul-Fitr to purify the fasting person from verbal errors and evil deed and to feed the poor. Whoever gives it before Eid Prayer, it will be an accepted Zakat and whoever gives after Eid prayer it will be Sadaqa" narrated by Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Hakim and others.
