"And whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allahʹs Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers.”Qur'an, 34:39
"O ye who believe! Spend out of (the bounties) We have provided for you, before the Day comes when no bargaining (Will avail), nor friendship nor intercession. Those who reject Faith they are the wrong-doers."
Quran 2:254
Being charitable and providing for the needy is a major aspect of Islam and the characteristic of the Muslim.
Charity is one of the major foundations of Islam.
The purpose of the proposed expansion is to construct additional prayer space, provide additional space for educational and Da'wah activities, including space for Qur'anic school. The proposed extension includes removing the existing prefab building and building in its place a two-story building. It also includes building a top floor on the existing shop and restaurant building. The two buildings are to be connected together and joined to the administration building.
The IFI applied for planning to the Dublin City Council and the permission for the project was obtained in May 2015 (download planning permission). An estimate of the costs of the construction was carried out by a Quantity Surveyor and it is estimated that the project will cost €752,644.
In addition to being the Patron to two full-time state-funded primary schools for Muslim children, the Islamic Foundation of Ireland also runs the Islamic School, with the evening weekday classes as well as daytime classes during weekends. This school teaches Qur’an, Islamic education and the Arabic language to children 4 and 16 years of age.
The children are currently taught in places which are not very suitable for education. Many times classes are interrupted during the school day and sometimes cancelled because they clash with other activities in the Mosque. The available space in the Mosque is not sufficient to accommodate all children and for this reason, classrooms are hired from a nearby Irish school.
We now wish to appeal to the Muslim community to contribute generously to this worthwhile project!
